Mike Henry in Hollywood

Former Steeler and Rams linebacker Mike Henry landed the Tarzan role after his final season in Los Angeles. 

However, here are a couple of screen test shots from am unidentified Western.

He starred with John Wayne in the film "The Green Berets" as Sgt. Kowalski


He played Walt Chaffee, a linebacker for the Saints, in "Number One"




In Rio Lobo he played Sheriff Tom Hendricks

In 1973's Soylent Green he played Kulozik.

He played one of the vicious prison guard named Rassmeusen in 1974's "The Longest Yard" 







On the TV Series The Six Million Dollar Man he played Tatashore/Cliff Platt



Henry played a jealous husband on The Bob Newhart Show



 He played Jackie Gleason's slow-witted son Junior Justice in "Smokey and the Bandit"

Defensive Linemen on Hollywood: Lamar Lundy

The least known of the Fearsome Foursome was Lamar Lundy and he sure got the short end of the stick in Hollywood compared to his linemates. Lundy only got a couple of roles and the only one that aired he was in a big cyclops costume

In the sci-fi series Lost in Space he was The Giant Cyclops. At least he got paid.

Defensive Linemen in Hollywood: Deacon Jones

Here is a complete list of Deacon Jones's films. It wasn't as prolific as Rosey Grier or Merlin Olsen, two other members of the Fearsome Foursome, but it was solid.

In 1969 he got his first role in Bewitched- Sam and the Beanstalk (1969) as a guard of the giant's castle.


Jones then gave Bobby Brady great advice, that one can play football and be in the Glee Club on The Brady Bunch 




A year later, in 1972 Jones starred with sseveral other football players in Banacek- "Let's Hear It for a Living Legend" as Joe Fabian.




 Also in 1972, Jones played himself on The Odd Couple- "Felix's First Commerical"





Also in 1972, Jones played himself, this time in Black Gunn which starred Jim Brown and Bernie Casey. It was uncredited and not listed on IMDB.


After a six-year hiatus, Jones returned to the big screen in Heaven Can Wait as Gorman, a nasty defensive lineman 







That same year be played a black Viking named Trall in The Norseman





In the late-1970s he also had a fight scene with Wonder Woman in that series along with Roman Gabriel and Lawrence McCutcheon


In 1983 in the TV show The Fall Guy - Win One for the Gipper, he played a football player.
