The Replacements was based loosly on the 1987 NFL strike replacement teams (scabs) that were composed of some interesting players, some former NFL players, some who were not quite NFL-level and many who were not even close to
NFL level talent.
This film did not have NFL
cooporation and had no logos associated with the NFL. Only John Madden and Pat Summerall had any NFL connection. At the time both were Television Broadcasters for Fox. As far as we know there were no NFL athletes in the
actions scenes, but readers may have information we don't currently have. IMDB.com does not list a football advisor or coordinator as many films do.
