Perhaps since movies and football began in the early 20th century and captured the fascination of the nation, there has been quite an interesting connection with the NFL and Hollywood. Both in football players acting in films and television and also in movies and television featuring football as a theme or even a small subplot.

Lionsgate released a preview of its upcoming film on Kurt Warner's life story entitled American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story.

It features Zachary Levi as Warner, Dennis Quaid as former St. Louis Rams head coach Dick Vermeil and Anna Paquin as Warner's wife, Brenda.
